Chalfont St Peter tourist information
Chalfont St Peter is a village in the Chiltern district of Buckinghamshire.
Visit Chalfont St Peter
Chalfont St Giles is one of the largest villages in England and due to the nearby Gerrards Cross train station with trains running into central London, it is also one of the most expensive.
Chalfont St Peter is very spread out. At the top of the village is a large village green surrounded by houses. The main street itself is attractive with a row of half-timber houses painted black and white and strung with banners. Nearby is the village church which is unusual with its bricks forming attractive patterns in the walls.
A lot of recent development has taken place in Chalfont St Peter making it less attractive than many of the Chilterns villages.
TV programmes filmed in Hambleden
Chalfont St Peter's car showroom was used in one of theĀ Midsomer Murders episodes - 'Secrets and Spies'.
Famous Residents
Patrick O' Brian of 'Master and Commander' fame was born here.
