Visit Aldbury
Aldbury is an utterly charming English Village situated in the beautiful Chiltern hills. Im not alone in finding Aldbury very attractive and so it can get quite busy in the summer.
In the centre of Aldbury is a large pond and surrounding this a pub and lots of beautiful houses. The houses are largely in the style common to the Chilterns - brick built often with a couple of different colours or shades of brick; tall, sloping tiled roofs, lovely small-paned leaded windows and roses growing on many of the walls.
In Aldbury there are also some lovely half-timber houses.
Wandering around Aldbury is a pleasure and if you are looking for some refreshment stop at the lovely Greyhound Inn, a former coaching inn, which overlooks the pond, and the old stocks.
Films and TV programmes filmed in Aldbury
Aldbury starred in 'Written in Blood', one of the Midsomer Murders episodes. Episodes of The Avengers, Inspector Morse and Shillingbury Tales have also been filmed in the village.
Bridget Jones Diary - The Age of Reason also did some filming here (cut from the film but on the DVD is a hunting scene shot in Aldbury).
